Ferik Esra in his early 20s,arly days learning the craft.Hello, sweet souls! I’m Ferik Esra, the proud owner and head baker of Ferikesra Cupcakes. Born in a small European town renowned for its pastries and confectioneries, I come from a long line of bakers, chefs, and culinary enthusiasts. My journey in the pastry world began as a child, observing my grandmother magically transform simple ingredients into delectable treats. As they say, the apple—or in my case, the cupcake—doesn’t fall far from the tree.

How I Got Started

Ferik Esra 2010I relocated to Chicago to attend culinary school, embracing the vibrant culture and diverse culinary scene this city offers. After years of honing my skills in various pastry shops across the city, I decided it was time to follow my lifelong dream of owning my own shop. I spent a year backpacking through Europe, collecting recipes, techniques, and inspiration to bring back to Chicago. Ferikesra Cupcakes was born out of this incredible journey, a tribute to my heritage and a gift to the city that welcomed me with open arms.
